Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed in the late 1970's through the modelling of excellent communicators as a way of understanding how we each uniquely perceive the world through our thinking, senses and behaviours. NLP models
have continually evolved and are now used as very powerful tools for developing individuals, teams and organisations.

Susan has kindly agreed to share her work with as a Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapist with Cumbria Quest in July, on the evening she will offer a talk on NLP along with involving Quest members in some exercises of which may identify how NLP applies to all of us.....

Susan has over 30 years experience helping individuals and organisations develop in both the public and private sectors and in 1987 she established her own business, Cameron Gill, a Human Resource Consultancy. Susan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist
and prior to setting up Cameron Gill, she worked as a Personnel Manager for a major high street retailer. Since training as an NLP Health Practitioner, Susan has became particularly interested in a holistic approach linking mind, body and spirit and this informs the way she works with clients.

Clients come from all walks of life and include individuals paying for their own counselling and therapy, as well as business people who are funded by their organisation and are seeking Executive Coaching as a way of improving their performance in the workplace.

NLP can be used to discover what it is we do that enables us to excel and succeed. However, sometimes our unique way of perceiving the world holds us back, causing us to do exactly what we don't want to do. NLPt is one of the 'talking therapies' and used remedially, can help you discover how you do what you do - your unique patterns - and then you can learn how to move on towards your goals and outcomes. Working with each client is a unique experience to them and no two clients can possibly be the same. Generally however, through NLPt you will be able to look at how you relate to yourself and others, look at the patterns in your way of thinking, doing and being and have the opportunity to bring real choice and an improved quality to your life.

NLPt, being outcome orientated, is typically briefer than other therapies and although we will explore some of your past we are unlikely to dwell on it unduly. Clients come for as little as one session, although many have on average six, or may decide to commit to long-term work over several weeks or months. The choice is yours. You decide how frequently you come and when you want to finish.
